Ladder signup sheets open 72 hours in advance.
Only signup more than 24 hours in advance for one event per week (defined as Sunday through Saturday).
If players would like to play in additional events in a given week, you may only signup for the second event less than 24 hours ahead of the second event. This includes waitlists, which still help secure a spot so they count the same.
For example, if you signup more than 24 hours before an event on Sunday, do not sign-up more than four hours before a ladder on Thursday of that week.
Players may not signup early for two events in a week because they know they'll be unavailable the following week. A players personal plans do not give them additional priority over other players.
Members may only be registered (confirmed or waitlisted) for one event per day except as specifically described below.
If you're not confirmed for any event one day, feel free to put yourself on multiple waitlists, but only do this is you can actively manage your signups and remove yourself from the second waitlist within one hour of being confirmed for an event. Players must manage this themselves; repeat offenders will be removed from both events if club organizers need manage this more than once per year.
If you played in an earlier event one day and would like to play in the later event, you may add yourself to that event no more than one hour before the event. This helps ensure that other players still have an opportunity to signup, but helps ensure we don't have empty slots if there are interested players.
Withdraw 2+ hours ahead of a ladder
Players will withdraw at least 2 hours ahead of an event if they are not quite certain they can attend. Maybe your work schedule is tight, or maybe you're not feeling 100%. While I'm sorry you many need to miss an event, it's simply not acceptable to withdraw close to an event, thus preventing other interested players from joining.
Manage your waitlist status
At whatever point you decide that you can no longer be to the courts to start the event on time, remove yourself from the waitlist. Don't stay on the waitlist and then not show-up because you didn't have time to get there; the person behind you on the list would have liked to play. Nobody should be dropping out on short notice, but clearly it does happen. Some people live 10 minutes away and might stay on the waitlist till 15 minutes before an event, allowing them to hop-in if someone backs out late.
When members don't follow club rules, there simply must be consequences, or some people will continually abuse the system. Here's how we'll handle things.
If you are found to be on the confirmed list for two events in the same day (for more than an hour), you will be removed from both events. Club leaders simply cannot be responsible for determining which one you prefer, so you will be removed from both and can sign-up again for whichever you prefer. Repeat offenders will be suspended from ladder play for 15 days.
Withdrawal on less than 2 hours notice, or failure to show-up for an event, will result in a 15 day suspension from ladder league activities, beginning the day of the infraction. This means if you miss a Thursday event on May 1, you won't be able to play in events until two Thursdays have passed, and you can sign-up for events again starting May 16th
Players will use their real name in all club software (Pickleheads, GroupMe, and any other). We are a community of local players, not a faceless gaming Discord server.
Players will use a recognizable photo or avatar that allows other club members to identify you. See above.
I'm truly so glad that people enjoy GPC events so much that they want to sign-up for every one of them, but that's not how the club is structured, so before going further, let's review what GPC is about.
If you're inclined to say "I paid to be in the club so I should be able to signup whenever I want to", then I need you to remember that this is a club, and not your personal play session.
We're all adults here, and this club can only operate smoothly if we all take responsibility for our actions. We will use software tools to enforce these rules as we can, but violators may be unceremoneously removed from events for repeated non-compliance. Ain't nobody got time for that. ;)
Sundays are PRIME TIME for our club. Which ever time slot has the most favorable weather fills up FAST. If you find yourself playing in the prime time slot every week, I would urge you to consider allowing other club members the opportunity to play. Some people work and can't signup between 2:00 every Thursday. So if you've played in the prime time slot the last couple weeks, please consider waiting a few hours to signup the next time. Or maybe find another place to play every few weeks.
